February Book Club

February is either the month for romance or the month for seasonal depression. I don't know about any of you, but my winter sads tend to hit hardest in February. And for the shortest month of the year, it always seems to drag on like the longest month of the year.

Whether you're feeling the warm-and-fuzzies or want to hibernate this month, Emily Henry's romcoms are the best way to cozy up while you wait for March to start.

Beach Read

A rivals-to-lovers delight! While dealing with her feelings about her father's recent death, a family secret unveiled, and poorly timed writer's block, January escapes to a beach house for the summer. A beach house that just happens to be right next door to her college rival. The perfect setup for a romance.

Book Lovers

A slight spin on enemies-to-lovers. Concerned about her sister, literary agent Nora takes her to a small town featured in one of the books published by her biggest author. It's quaint enough that Nora believes the two women can reconnect, and get back the close relationship they've always had. Meanwhile, her industry rival, a curmudgeonly editor, is also staying in town. What could go wrong?

People We Meet on Vacation

My favorite of Emily Henry's romcoms! Best friends Poppy (every bit as Pollyanna as her name sounds) and Alex (her polar opposite) spent ten summers traveling together. Ten years of crappy hotels, drinks as creative as the people they meet, of will-they-won't-they. Until two years ago. Their travels, and their friendship, ended. Rife with mystery about what caused the rift, tension of WILL-THEY-OR-FUCKING-WON'T-THEY, and comical vacation mishaps. I loved every page. It's worth a read and reread.

Happy Place

Breakups are awkward. What's even more awkward? Your friends making you hang out with your ex 24/7 for a week at a beach house. In the friends' defense, they don't know that Harriet and her ex fiance Wyn have broken up. But they have - and they're stuck with each other. Will they find their way back to each other? Or at least figure out how to survive a romantic wedding week together?

Give Emily Henry's collection of romcoms a try. They're a great comfort read and her writing is hilarious. Enjoy the laughs that will lift you up this month.
